Art Waves

“This is Bernadette Rule, wishing you a good night on the shores of Lake Ontario…”

In 2008, while teaching at Mohawk College, Bernadette Rule began hosting Art Waves, a weekly program in which she interviews local artists of all disciplines. Airing live every Sunday evening from 7-8 pm at 101.5 FM, The Hawk, Art Waves serves as a valuable space to discuss and celebrate the efforts of artists and art lovers around Hamilton.

Rule is a writer and editor. She was awarded the City of Hamilton Arts Award for Literature in 2017. Her most recent book is Earth Day in Leith Churchyard: Poems in Search of Tom Thomson (Seraphim Editions), 2015.

Many of the artists interviewed have worked and lived in Hamilton between 1950-2000. Here, you will find a selection of episodes and photos taken by Rule of her special guests.
